To be a successful spray tan artist it's important to know that having the right tools and supplies on hand can make all the difference in providing a top-notch tanning experience. In this blog post, I'm excited to share a list of things in my spray tan studio that just make sense. These essentials ensure a smoother, more comfortable, and efficient spray tanning session for both you and your clients.
Blending Brushes: One thing that's absolutely non-negotiable in my studio is having an abundance of clean blending brushes. These come in handy for every client to perfect the tan on their hands and feet and to fix any minor application mishaps. Clean brushes ensure a flawless finish, and it's a small touch that clients truly appreciate.
Baby Wipes: Baby wipes are a versatile tool to always have on hand as a spray tan artist. Not only do they come in handy for clients to freshen up before their session, but they're also excellent for addressing any minor tanning mistakes during or after the application. Quick, easy, and effective!
Wave Extraction Fan: Maintaining a clean and well-ventilated studio is crucial. A wave extraction fan is a smart investment to keep the air clear of overspray and ensure a healthier breathing environment for both you and your clients. It also minimizes the amount of overspray in your area, meaning less mess for you to clean up!
Hairnets: Protecting your client's hair is essential. Especially clients who have very light hair, they don’t want to be washing tan reside out of it the next day. It is an easy, nice touch. You can use their hair nets to wipe off extra barrier cream from their nails after the session, so less waste!
Silk Robes: Adding a touch of luxury to your studio, silk robes are a fantastic addition. Clients can comfortably wear a silk robe before and after their tanning session, enhancing their overall comfort, and makes for cute selfies!
Back-Up Gun and Hose: Equipment can malfunction at the most inconvenient times. Having a spare spray gun and hose on hand is a wise precaution. It guarantees that technical glitches won't disrupt your appointments.
Client Care Cards: Providing your clients with detailed before and aftercare instructions is key. Sometimes it's easier for the clients to have them written out than to just memorize them. Give them to new clients or those that need a refresh.
Extra Fuji Cups: Having extra Fuji cups to store leftover spray tan solution ensures that you can minimize waste and protect your solution's integrity by not pouring the old solution back into the bottle. Be sure to label them for when you are ready to use that shade again.
